Accreditations and Approvals
All Zodiac courses have been inspected by and approved/accredited by external bodies (see individual courses for full details). At present we are pleased to say that all external Associations, Guilds and Insurance Companies approve all of our courses. The list of approvals include:- Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), Association of Reflexologists (AoR), International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA), Independent Professional Therapists International (IPTI), Embody (CThA), The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Continuing Professional Development credits are also available.The Tutors
All tutors run their own successful Complementary Therapy Practices which they believe enhances the training offered by Zodiac enabling them to bring up to date experiences into the learning environment. They have advised the media on many occasions and have appeared on radio and television for HTV and the BBC. Zodiac tutors are regularly asked to lecture on complementary therapies and have addressed audiences in most South Wales hospitals, Cardiff University, Schools, Cancer Centres (including being on the syllabus for Breast Check Wales), and many others. Zodiac tutors have also taught and lectured in many other countries. They have also helped in the fight against crime (hypnotherapy). I have been a practising aromatherapist for over 20 years, and a trainer in aromatherapy and CAM for 15 years. Previous work experience includes working in Eastern Europe training health carers in aromatherapy in a specialist health project and working as the principal lecturer for Neals Yard Remedies Aromatherapy diploma. I have contributed to several conferences over the years including the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine keynote speaker for the International workshop on Aromatherapy. My work has taken me as far a field as Tokyo, working as an aromatherapy examiner. Over the years I have been involved in various aspects of the development of standards in training in aromatherapy, in the past with the Aromatherapy Council and on National Occupational Standards. I have co-written several aromatherapy programmes including private and Higher education courses. I am an author of a complementary therapy book and several articles. Currently I am a senior lecturer/award manager (part time) at a Midlands university, I am on the IFPA council as the accreditation chair for the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) I am also a current member of the HMAC the Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee, which is a committee within the MHRA, part of the Dept of Health, set up to help to protect the public. David R. Hamilton, PhDZodiac are delighted David has been visting Swansea to deliver his exciting talks and workshops. David is an expert in his field and in 1992, David gained a First Class Honours Degree in Chemistry from the Unversity of Strathclyde, specialising in biological and medicinal chemistry. He gained a PhD in organic chemistry in 1995 from the same University. From 1995 until 1998, he worked as a scientist in one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies near Manchester in the UK. From 1998 to 1999 he worked as a change agent for the same company. During this time he also served as an athletics coach of Sale Harriers in Manchester as well as the Manager of the Junior Men's Team inspiring them to three successive UK championship finals. He left the pharmaceutical industry and atheletics coaching in 1999 and returned to Scotland. In 2000, he co-founded Spirit Aid Foundation, an international relief charity helping children whose lives had been affected by war and poverty. In 2002, as a Director of Spirit Aid, he helped produce a 9 day, 24 event festival of peace in Glasgo. He served as a Director of Spirit Aid until the end of 2002. From 2004 until 2005 he taught chemistry and ecology at James Watt College of Further and Higher Education and tutored chemistry at the University of Glasgo. In 2005, he self published his first book, 'It's the Thought That Counts', which was published by Hay House in 2006. In 2007, Hay House published his second book, 'Destiny vs Free Will' and his third book, 'How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body' was published by Hay House in the USA on the 1st February 2009. David's new book 'Why Kindness is Good For You' is due to be available for sale in February 2010. David will be back in 2010 delivering his exciting talks and workshops in Swansea.
Carole Dally, Dip. Sw, MSc(Econ), Dip. Co. (mbacp) Dip. Hyp (GHR Reg)Carole will be teaching our counselling module as part of our Hypnotherapy Diploma Course. Carole has worked in the social care sector for many years, experience of working with all ages and abilities, including people with mental health issues. She trained as a social worker, preferred the therapeutic work and so trained as a counsellor. Her qualifications: Dip. Sw, MSc(Econ), Dip. Co. (mbacp) Dip. Hyp (GHR Reg). Registered also to do Auricular Acupuncture re substance misuse/smoking cessation. She specialises in drug and alcohol problems. Tim Bartlett trained with BCMB (MTI) in Bristol in 2001, and has a sports & remedial massage qualification with APNT (2003), and has been teaching with BCMB since 2004. He teaches the MTI Holistic Massage diploma as the first year of the BSc in Complementary Therapies at UWIC in Cardiff. He brings his T’ai Chi practice to his work, and his awareness of body use and movement difference from working with people who experience autism. He is a member of the MTI Training Committee. Zodiac are delighted to have Tim on board delivering the massage courses in Swansea.

David will be teaching Zodiac's Infant Baby Massage Courses. He is a qualified Massage in Schools Instructor which promotes positive touch and peer massage in schools, which reduces bullying, increases respect and improves attendance and concentration. This can also be adapted for Youth Service work, community groups and the workplace. He is also an Infant Massage Instructor and as such can share the benefits of this treatment with parents/guardians and those in the nursing/medical professions who have contact with babies/infants. He has worked in the health sector for nearly 25 years including nursing, health promotion management, health development in the community, and for many years was Director for Wales of a major heart charity. He has also worked in retail and as a teacher. As such he has many years of varied experiences which he utilises in his work. His Stress Management sessions are based on 20 years of providing these to companies, local authorities, health authorities and community groups in England and Wales. www.smootheaway.co.uk
