Accreditations and Approvals

All Zodiac courses have been inspected by and approved/accredited by external bodies (see individual courses for full details). At present we are pleased to say that all external Associations, Guilds and Insurance Companies approve all of our courses. The list of approvals include:- Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), Association of Reflexologists (AoR), International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA), Independent Professional Therapists International (IPTI), Embody (CThA), The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). Continuing Professional Development credits are also available.

The Tutors

All tutors run their own successful Complementary Therapy Practices which they believe enhances the training offered by Zodiac enabling them to bring up to date experiences into the learning environment.  They have advised the media on many occasions and have appeared on radio and television for HTV and the BBC. Zodiac tutors are regularly asked to lecture on complementary therapies and have addressed audiences in most South Wales hospitals, Cardiff University, Schools, Cancer Centres (including being on the syllabus for Breast Check Wales), and many others. Zodiac tutors have also taught and lectured in many other countries.  They have also helped in the fight against crime (hypnotherapy). Alan BurnettAlan J Burnett SQHP, AdHyp Dip, MICHT, ITEC PsyDip. Cert.Ed, (Director of Zodiac) 

Alan practices as a Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Reiki Master and has been practising over 20 years.  Alan has worked extensively in the field of cancer counselling patients and staff in pallative care.  He is qualified in Emotional Freedom Therapy, Counselling and various other complementary therapies.  Alan is a registered and accredited Smoking Cessation Practitioner with the Central Register of Stop Smoking Therapists (CRSST) and is an Accredited Supervisor.  Alan has appeared on lifestyle programmes for HTV and BBC Wales regarding hypnotherapy.  Alan represented Zodiac as the only Welsh College attending the first Integrated Medicine Meetings in London.  Alan has also played a key role in setting the standards in Reiki advising a number of Associations and Guilds.  All tutors have a wide range of qualifications and enjoy teaching students subjects they feel passionate about. All tutors are committed to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with latest techniques and developments.  Alan' runs a successful practice in Clinics in Killay, Gorseinon, Gowerton and the surrounding Swansea area. BridgetteBridgette Burnett MIFPA, MAR, MICHT, HypDip, Cert.Ed, CNHC Reg. (Director of Zodiac)

Bridgette is qualified in various complementary therapies but specialises in aromatherapy and reflexology.  Bridgette is a member of IFPA (International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists).The International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) is the largest Professional Aromatherapy Practitioner Organisation in the world and is a strong, respected voice in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Bridgette also a member of AoR (Association of Reflexologists) who are an Association delivering excellence in reflexology and is a registered Practitioner with the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council. Bridgette has undergone advanced training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London regarding the use of essential oils for cancer patients  and for pain management in a cancer care environment .  She has been involved in aromatherapy for over 20 years and runs a succesful practice in Gorseinon and at her local GP Surgery.  For private appointments please contact us.

Cheryll Grover

Cheryll Hodgson, MBSR, MAR

Zodiac are proud to have Cheryll has part of their team as she is an Expert in her field.  Cheryll has many years experience as a therapist and has worked as a reflexologist for the past 15 years, having trained with Ann Gillanders - one of the Pioneers of the therapy in Britain from the early 1960's.  Cheryll has been teaching students for over 10 years.  In 2000, Cheryll qualified with the School of Natural Nutrition and offers help and advice on a wide range of problems and ailments from a nutritional point of view.  Cheryll runs her own successful private practice at her own therapy centre in Carmarthen.  For a private appointment please contact her for further information : www.westshirestherapies.co.uk.

Natasha Marchant is an inspirational teacher known for her holistic approach to Complementary Therapies, Yoga and Healing. Natasha has been practising Complementary Therapies and Yoga for over 20 years and has studied many different massage/bodywork traditions and is founder of the Gaia Lifestyle Centres and Gaiatri Ayurveda and Yoga.   It is because of this wealth of knowledge and experience that Natasha is delighted to be a tutor for Zodiac continuing to educate and inspire within Complementary Therapy. Viv HinksViv Hinks BSc. Hons. MIFPA MA
I have been a practising aromatherapist for over 20 years, and a trainer in aromatherapy and CAM for 15 years. Previous work experience includes working in Eastern Europe training health carers in aromatherapy in a specialist health project and working as the principal lecturer for Neals Yard Remedies Aromatherapy diploma. I have contributed to several conferences over the years including the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine keynote speaker for the International workshop on Aromatherapy. My work has taken me as far a field as Tokyo, working as an aromatherapy examiner. Over the years I have been involved in various aspects of the development of standards in training in aromatherapy, in the past with the Aromatherapy Council and on National Occupational Standards. I have co-written several aromatherapy programmes including private and Higher education courses. I am an author of a complementary therapy book and several articles.   Currently I am a senior lecturer/award manager (part time) at a Midlands university, I am on the IFPA council as the accreditation chair for the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA)  I am also a current member of the HMAC the Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee, which is a committee within the MHRA, part of the Dept of Health, set up to help to protect the public.  I live in the beautiful Welsh countryside where I work as a therapist and therapy trainer and also offer therapeutic retreats.    For further information please contact Viv at:

Mathew AtkinsMathew Atkins, GHR, MIPTI, BSc Hons, AdHyp.Dip, MANLP

Mathew will be teaching our NLP module which is incorporated into our Hypnotherapy Diploma Course.  He is an experienced Clinical hypnotherapist and Master Practitioner in NLP. He has a wealth of NLP experience, particularly in the areas of executive coaching and personal development.  Mathew is a graduate member of the International NLP Trainers Association (INLPTA). His passion in the subject has led to an impressive and extensive array of qualifications and skills as follows:- Certified NLP Diploma 2001, Certified NLP Practitioner 2002 and Certified NLP Master Practitioner 2004.  Mathew is an experienced presenter and will engage the audience in an open, friendly and dynamic manner, creating the optimum environment for students to achieve maximum results.  Mathew has a strong business background with over 18 years' experience in management, sales and training. davidDavid R. Hamilton, PhD

Zodiac are delighted David has been visting Swansea to deliver his exciting talks and workshops.  David is an expert in his field and in 1992, David gained a First Class Honours Degree in Chemistry from the Unversity of Strathclyde, specialising in biological and medicinal chemistry.  He gained a PhD in organic chemistry in 1995 from the same University.  From 1995 until 1998, he worked as a scientist in one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies near Manchester in the UK.  From 1998 to 1999 he worked as a change agent for the same company.  During this time he also served as an athletics coach of Sale Harriers in Manchester as well as the Manager of the Junior Men's Team inspiring them to three successive UK championship finals.   He left the pharmaceutical industry and atheletics coaching in 1999 and returned to Scotland.  In 2000, he co-founded Spirit Aid Foundation, an international relief charity helping children whose lives had been affected by war and poverty.  In 2002, as a Director of Spirit Aid, he helped produce a 9 day, 24 event festival of peace in Glasgo.  He served as a Director of Spirit Aid until the end of 2002.  From 2004 until 2005 he taught chemistry and ecology at James Watt College of Further and Higher Education and tutored chemistry at the University of Glasgo.  In 2005, he self published his first book, 'It's the Thought That Counts', which was published by Hay House in 2006.  In 2007, Hay House published his second book, 'Destiny vs Free Will' and his third book, 'How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body' was published by Hay House in the USA on the 1st February 2009.  David's new book 'Why Kindness is Good For You' is due to be available for sale in February 2010. David will be back in 2010 delivering his exciting talks and workshops in Swansea.

 
Carole DallyCarole Dally, Dip. Sw, MSc(Econ), Dip. Co. (mbacp) Dip. Hyp (GHR Reg)

Carole will be teaching our counselling module as part of our Hypnotherapy Diploma Course.  Carole has worked in the social care sector for many years, experience of working with all ages and abilities, including people with mental health issues.  She trained as a social worker, preferred the therapeutic work and so trained as a counsellor. Her qualifications:  Dip. Sw, MSc(Econ), Dip. Co. (mbacp) Dip. Andy Fagg
Andy Fagg - MA, MTI, ITEC

Andy Fagg is Chairman of the Massage Training Institute and is the Founder and Director of Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork. Since qualifying in massage in 1984, his approach to bodywork has been influenced by such disciplines as T’ai Chi, meditation, dance, Zero Balancing and Process Work. He has been in private practice since 1986 and has offered professional trainings since 1989. Mike MahaoneyMichael Mahoney LIhP, CMH, D.Hyp, C.Hyp

Michael is a Clinical Hypnotherapist being in professional practice since 1986.  Widely known for his work in the gastrointestinal field he also has extensive experience in the field of working with cancer patients, with particular interest in breast cancer and emotional recovery.  He has research and patient piloting experience working with breast cancer patients.  He is the author of the widely acclaimed CD 'An Aid to Emotional Recovery after Breast Cancer' for which he received an Innovation and Research Award in 2005.  Michael holds membership of several primary care societies, his service are used by GP's/NHS & Private Hospital Consultants throughout the North West of England and beyond.  He has worked as a Consultant at a local hospital working alongside psychiatrists and other medical professionals.  He is a trained Trainer of NHS HoNoS.  Michael's Practice 'Timeline Services' are the Administrators of the IBS Register and are established service providers to Regional NHS Occupational Health Departments, Corporate Organisations and local Government.  www.healthyaudio.com

 
timTim Bartlett, MTI

Tim Bartlett trained with BCMB (MTI) in Bristol in 2001, and has a sports & remedial massage qualification with APNT (2003), and has been teaching with BCMB since 2004. He teaches the MTI Holistic Massage diploma as the first year of the BSc in Complementary Therapies at UWIC in Cardiff. He brings his T’ai Chi practice to his work, and his awareness of body use and movement difference from working with people who experience autism. He is a member of the MTI Training Committee.  Zodiac are delighted to have Tim on board delivering the massage courses in Swansea.

 

 


David NapierDavid Napier, OStJ, FCP, BEd,HND, DipHE, GQHP,GHR (Reg),CNHC (Reg),FIHPE, MFHT, MICHT, MISA, CRSST

David will be teaching Zodiac's Infant Baby Massage Courses.  He is a qualified Massage in Schools Instructor which promotes positive touch and peer massage in schools, which reduces bullying, increases respect and improves attendance and concentration. This can also be adapted for Youth Service work, community groups and the workplace. He is also an Infant Massage Instructor and as such can share the benefits of this treatment with parents/guardians and those in the nursing/medical professions who have contact with babies/infants. He has worked in the health sector for nearly 25 years including nursing, health promotion management, health development in the community, and for many years was Director for Wales of a major heart charity. He has also worked in retail and as a teacher. As such he has many years of varied experiences which he utilises in his work.  His Stress Management sessions are based on 20 years of providing these to companies, local authorities, health authorities and community groups in England and Wales. www.smootheaway.co.uk
